SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMISSION
Members of the Social Justice Commission work to fulfill the parish mission of global and social outreach. This Commission applies the Church's Social Justice Teachings when adopting specific causes to aid the homeless, the hungry, and other needy people. They reflect on, study, support, participate in, and oversee parish involvement in various social justice ministries within our community and throughout the region.
This Commission is called to be a catalyst of learning and living out Catholic social teaching in our lives, in our parish, and in the larger community. Under the prayerful guidance of the Spirit, we remain open to growth in our own hearts and minds and seek to challenge our parish community to become more active in reaching out and working with others, to uphold the basic dignity of all people.
The Social Justice Commission meets every other month. We strive to embrace the principles of Catholic social teaching and facilitate parish participation in worthy causes such as Habitat for Humanity and holiday giving to shut-ins or the less fortunate. All are welcome to attend the meetings. Check the bulletin or parish calendar for meeting dates.
