What Makes St. Brigid School Special?

We will use this space to let you know about special activities, accomplishments of students and staff, and anything that makes St. Brigid School special.  One of our former parents is fond of saying that "St. Brigid School is one of the best kept secrets in Greene County."  We have decided that it should not be a secret any more!

Power of the Pen

Each year the Ohio Interscholastic Writing League holds a writing contest for junior high school students.  The students show their abilities in creative expression in three forty minute rounds of competitive writing with no advance knowledge of the topic. Winners can advance from district competition to state competition.  Coached by faculty member, Anna Donohue, St. Brigid students have traditionally placed extremely well in the Power of the Pen competition.  In 2010, then 8th grader, Caroline Austria, was awarded "Best of the Best" for her composition entitled Where Did Molly Go?.  That composition was selected for publication this year by the Ohio Interscholastic Writing League for its "high literary merit".  We are extremely proud of Caroline and all the competitive writers from St. Brigid who have represented themselves and our school well!
