The Saint Brigid Partners in Education is an organization open to all parents of school-age children. This organization provides an avenue of communication between school and parents by conducting regular meetings and by fostering activities to benefit all children of the parish and school. The Partners in Education treasury receives money for programs from several activities - Christmas Bazaar, Fair Gates, Market Days and the bingo kitchen. Notification of meetings will be sent home with your child.
Meetings are generally held the third Wednesday of September, November, January, March and May.2006-2007 Financial Report
The officers of Partners in Education (PIE) would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the parents, teachers, administration and all parishioners of St. Brigid for their continued support of PIE activities during the past year.
| PIE received income from the following sources: | |
| Bingo kitchen | $2,500.00 |
| Christmas Bazaar | $3,240.81 |

| Kroger gift cards | $1,638.57 |
| Interest Income | $2,237.36 |
| Market Day | $4,024.70 |
| Total Income | $16,974.78 |
In the 2006-2007 school year PIE distributed over $25,000 including the following funds for “big-ticket items”:
| Computer server | $4,716 |
| Field trips (buses) | $2,858 |
| Non-tuition assistance to parents | $1,250 |
| Books for library | $2,000 |
| COSI on Wheels | $ 895 |

| Catholic Schools Week (teacher appreciation gifts) | $ 936 |
| Boys and Girls Town staff training | $1,731 |
| Family Fun Nights | $ 829 |
| Handbells for music class and choir | $2,535 |
| Total Income | $18,468.00 |
In addition, PIE distributed a total of over $6,000 to many smaller projects in response to requests from teachers and administration.
As you can see - while we had a total carryover (including investments) of about $36,000 to the 2007-2008 school year - our rate of distribution outpaced our rate of income by over $8,000 for the second year in a row, making it even more important for PIE to continue to make prudent, thoughtful decisions on how the available funds are disbursed.
PIE would like to take this opportunity to encourage all parents and teachers to participate fully in PIE meetings. It is at our meetings that the distribution of funds is discussed and important financial decisions are made based on the votes of those parents in attendance.
